Christine A. Nowierski Cheer Camp (Entering Grades 2-12)
Cheerleading is extremely fun, but it’s also very demanding and competitive. This summer, novice and experienced cheerleaders have the opportunity to train with Christine A. Nowierski, head coach of Hofstra Cheerleading, and her coaching staff. Campers learn and practice the dances, jumps, stunts, pyramid building and gymnastics that winning cheerleaders need in their skill set while having a lot of fun in a supportive team environment. This camp is open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender). All one-week camps have an option for transportation.

The camp features expert instruction, shooting techniques, agilities, games, fundamental stations, contests, and individual and team awards. The camp is designed to focus on skills that cover every aspect of the game. Players are grouped according to level of ability, and receive personalized instruction with an emphasis on enhancing a combination of individual and team skills and play. Fundamentals of the game are taught, demonstrated and drilled every day. Campers learn and hone their skills through hands-on instruction from the very best instructors Long Island has to offer. The Dennis Papadatos Wrestling Camp is geared toward wrestlers who strive to learn the fundamentals of the sport. We teach and practice essential drills and techniques for beginning and advanced wrestlers. We also utilize wrestling videos and guest speakers as part of the learning experience. Campers are divided into small learning groups based on grade, skill level and experience, and they interact with great coaches throughout the week. Instructors are current coaches and wrestlers at Hofstra University, a national power in wrestling. Emily Mansur Volleyball Camp (Entering Grades 2-12)
Emily Mansur Volleyball Camp is for both girls and boys who desire a full day of volleyball training and instruction. Camp provides a healthy atmosphere in which campers can enjoy playing volleyball and developing friendships. Camp Objectives Players will develop their skills through frequent ball contact in a fun yet challenging environment. Games and competition will be used throughout camp as a learning tool with continued positive feedback. This program is available to players of all ability levels. Campers are placed into groups of similar skill level in order to insure the most improvement, challenge and excitement. The intended goal is to motivate the skilled player, while teaching the beginner the basics to building a strong foundation in volleyball. All aspects of the game will be covered on both individual and team levels. Daily Program Stretching and warm-up exercises Volleyball fundamentals: passing, setting, attacking, serving, defense and blocking Offensive and defensive strategic development Position breakdown Competitions Game play Continuous evaluation and supervision Coaches instruction-lectures

Jason Pasion Tennis Camp (Entering Grades 7-12)
Hofstra University Summer Camps is now offering a new addition to our Specialty Tennis Program. The Elite Tennis Program will be a full day tennis program for experienced players who are entering 7th through 12th grade. In the morning campers will participate in supervised practice and competition, while the afternoon will consist of learning new skills and strategies, as well as drills and specific games to enhance the camper’s full tennis skill set. Admission to this program is selective, campers will be interviewed by the tennis directors to asses if this is the right program for them! Julie Meyer Softball Camp (Entering Grades 2-12)
The Julie Meyer Softball Camp, under the direction of Hofstra’s assistant softball coach, Julie Meyer, along with other world-class players and coaches, will help players enhance their softball skills. Campers learn age-appropriate techniques for hitting, fielding, throwing, catching, base running and team play while having fun and improving their self-confidence in a friendly team environment. Campers come away with a solid foundation of tried-and-true softball techniques to bring to the field. The Julie Meyer Softball Camp, under the direction of Hofstra’s assistant softball coach, Julie Meyer, along with other world-class players and coaches, will help players enhance their softball skills. Kelly Olsen Dance Academy is structured to meet the needs of dancers who desire exposure to a variety of dance styles, including jazz, and hip-hop, with an emphasis on style, technical execution, flexibility, jumps, turns and performance. All dancers are evaluated by the staff and assigned to a level based on experience and skill. Kelly Olsen and her team work hard to meet each camper’s individual needs. The Hofstra Dance Team is a nationally recognized program with UDA College National Championship Titles in 2006, 2012 and 2013, and a top-three finish for the past two years. Seth Tierney Boys Lacrosse Camp (Entering Grades 2-12)
Emphasis on Instruction is the goal of Seth Tierney Boys Lacrosse Camp. Each one week session is geared to boys who desire a full day of Lacrosse training. The goal is to teach the fundamentals of individual, group and team lacrosse skills – stressing the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and a strong work ethic – while offering a balanced, fun-filled experience for players trying to improve their game. Campers are placed on teams based on age and ability, but will be adjusted according to size, maturity and skill level following a full evaluation by the coaches. The day is divided into four periods: two practice sessions, lunch and an educational lecture and/ or film, and the opportunity twice a week to swim. Players learn the fundamental aspects of dodging, passing, catching, shooting, individual defense, goalie play, and face-off technique. In addition, players learn team skills such as team offense, team defense, riding, clearing and transition play.

Shannon Smith Girls Lacrosse Camp (Entering Grades 2-8)
We love lacrosse! This exciting lacrosse camp will help players improve their fundamental lacrosse skills with individual instruction, team practice and games. Hofstra’s Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach Shannon Smith, Associate Head Coach Katie Mollot, Assistant Coach Michael Bedford and Hofstra Women’s Lacrosse players work with the campers to improve their catching, throwing, stick handling, dodging, shooting, draws, goal keeping, transition, groundballs, defensive and offensive strategies, and other techniques in a challenging, but fun and positive environment This camp is open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender). All one-week camps have an option for transportation.
